On January 24, 2023, Premier Greyhound Racing, a leading UK-based greyhound racing company, signed a lucrative deals with the four UK retail betting operators, Entain (Ladbrokes & Coral), William Hill, Paddy Power and Betfred. The agreements include the official integration of the Premier Greyhound Service, starting in 2024.
New deals:
With this latest commercial deals, Premier Greyhound Racing will supply images from its British greyhound tracks to retail operators’ stores from early 2024.
Commenting on the agreements, Mark Kingston, Director of Premier Greyhound Racing, said: “As important as greyhound racing is to the betting industry as a whole, greyhounds have always been a fundamental part of the betting shop service. Signing up all major retail bookmakers to take the Premier Greyhound Racing service is therefore the biggest endorsement we could have for the content we will be providing from January 2024.
“This commitment from retail bookmakers also underpins the viability of the service as we look to drive a competitive betting product allied to the very highest welfare standards for the greyhounds racing at our tracks.”
About:
Headquartered in the UK, Premier Greyhound Racing is a joint investment between Arena Racing (ARC), which also operates horse racing sites, and Entain, a globally recognized sports betting and gambling company.
Both are the official owners of nine of the 20 UK-licensed greyhound tracks, such as Crayford, Hove, Monmore, Romford, Central Park, Perry Bar, Newcastle, Sunderland and Nottingham.
But that’s not all; as they also own the media rights for five independent tracks such as Kinsley, Pelaw Grange, Sheffield, Swindon and Yarmouth.
Premier Greyhound Racing was founded and officially launched on December 1st, 2021, and is the center of “global greyhound entertainment.”
One of the obligations of Premier Greyhound Racing is to invest in the Open Racing prize money, across its nine stages, which will exceed the total amount of 2.5 million euros. This involves sponsorship of a series of current open races worth 20.000 euros to the winner, as well as the Premier Greyhound Racing Regency, St Leger, Oaks and Eclipse competitions.
Beside that, another obligation of the company is to offer flagship industry standards for welfare. In support of this fact, Premier Greyhound Racing has invested 100.000 euros in research identified by the sport’s governing body as The Greyhound Board of Great Britain’s Welfare Strategy: A Good Life for Every Greyhound.
In addition, the company supports the GBGB’s welfare strategies to provide long-term care to greyhounds throughout and after their racing days and recently made Clarissa Baldwin, a leading animal welfare campaigner, a CBE on the board.
